1. Is about cancer research and what is happening that isn’t in a lab. There is a lot of press about what happens in labs but not many people know what else is out there, so I wanted to do some short videos with my team about what we do and why, some patients have agreed to take part to chat about how the research is important to them.
2. Then I also want to do some general videos on research, who does it and why, what the day to day life is like. I’m from Blackpool and I never had a clue that you could do a job like this and didn’t understand what people actually did.
Finally a couple of videos about understanding research and how you can understand what scientists say and be able to critique it. Sometimes people use complicated language and we feel like we aren’t able to question what they did, so I’d like to do some videos on how to critique what you see.
I would like to share several educational videos on youtube which focus on various mental health condition based on “facts”. I’m up for suggestions on specific topics and would be interested in hearing your thoughts on which topic I should cover first 🙂
If I had a YouTube channel, it would probably centre around books. Those I’ve read and those I enjoy reading. It’s good to have hobbies and interests outside of one’s work.
Mine would likely be reviews and recommedations of art exhibitions and galleries – particularly with the view to how accessible and enjoyable they are for young kids. I had an Instagram account for a few years which featured just these sorts of things.
I also have a professional website where I reflect on how things we interact with in everyday life influence our thinking and behaviour, like this article about how playing Monopoly can influence our ideas about how society should be structured https://drjessrea.blogspot.com/2020/12/what-playing-monopoly-with-my-5-year.html
