To become a Health Psych. You would first do an undergrad BSc in Psychology (or Psychology and…./ I did Psychology and Health Sciences). This must be an accredited course by the BPS.

after the BSc, you would complete a 1 year Masters in Health Psychology (again accredited by BPS)

Finally, you would complete the stage 2 training, this is either via a university professional doctorate course, or independent portfolio direct to the BPS. To do either of these you need a relevance placement (AKA job) which you can demonstrate the competencies.

This sounds like a lot, but really its not, its about continuous learning and experience. The one thing i would say is that at each stage you can take your time, so you dont have to do the msc straight after the bsc (although many do). Once you bag the MSc you might have a few years settling into a position before starting the stage 2 training. It depends on what opportunities there are for you, and most importantly what you enjoy doing!
