I have always wanted to do “something cool and important”, so I guess science has always been on the list. 🙂 I have always been really into both maths and human behaviour/psychology, but the actual path to science was quite long for me – after doing my engineering MSc I first thought I would be doing management consulting or something, but then I sort of slipped into research via my first job, at the research & development department at a car company.
I like all subjects and i had a hard time in school choosing subjects and thinking what i wanted to do. I tried to keep my options open as long as possible.
Being in psychology (as a scientist) is so interesting, no day is the same. I can utilise all my skills and not just do a repetitive job. I can find new knowledge and make a contribution to the world.
As a female I am very proud to be part of the STEM community.
