Sounds obvious, but try to make your personal statement as specific to you as possible! Your personal statement should focus on why you are interested in the subject you want to study, and you should use personal examples and experiences to explain this. For example, I first became interested in neuroscience when I was diagnosed with dyspraxia as a child, and I discussed how and why this inspired me in my personal statement.

Offer something for the reader to remember. ask yourself what makes me different to the person next to me.
do you have an interesting fact or event you have participated in.

tell the reader how you are interested in their topic, cite a recent psychology article you have read and tell them why this is of interest

Make it about you! It is much better to say “I am interested in XYZ parts of psychology, and this stems from my experiences of ABC…” than to say “Psychology is interesting.”

They want to know why this course is right for YOU, what YOU want to get from the university experience, what can YOU bring to the university. Keep yourself in the forefront of your mind when writing.

Also it’s not just about the course/academic side of the university experience, if you have a hobby or a special skill, share that too!

Make is personal – they want to hear about you and why you are interested in studying psychology. Let your interest in the subject shine through and don’t just list your achievements. What have you gained form your experiences and how might they help you in the future. They normally want to know about you and if you would be a good fit at the Uni and that you are genuinely interested in the course.
