The positive symptoms are the class symptoms of schizophrenia such as delusion, hallucinations, disorganised behaviour / speech. The negative symptoms are typically the symptoms which are the byproduct of living with schizophrenia. For example, having a lack of interest in doing day-to-day things, lack of motivation, poor speech, and difficulties interacting with others (known as asociality). The negative symptoms cannot be treated through medication, and in some case, long-term medication (antipsychotics) can bring about these effects too. Cognitive behaviour therapy after a hospitalisation can often help improve some of these symptoms, as well as family therapy. Hope this helps!
