My current research focuses on the brain signals of complex parent-and-child social interactions, with a focus on the development of “social attention”.
-
My Typical Day:
I will spend my mornings answering emails, coding videos, discussing papers with my co-workers. In the afternoon, I will code experiments on my computer or take part in the fun part of my day- a testing session with a parent and baby! I will attach EEG sensors to their heads and record their brain waves while they play. We are interested in how eye contact causes peaks in their brain waves, and how this relates to their attention.
-
What I'd do with the prize money:
It would go toward advertising our experiment! We recruit most of our volunteers from the local london community, and we need to hang posters and print leaflets!
