• Question: Why do we sometimes remember our dreams, and sometimes not, also why do some people wake up in the night more than others?

Remembering dreams is all about when we wake up. We dream throughout the night, having about 30 dreams per night. Because we are asleep for most of this we don’t consciously remember them because we don’t need to. When we wake up in the middle of a dream we remember those details but because we don’t need to remember it long term we tend to forget it quite easily.

On the waking up- one of the things I’ve seen recently is it’s linked to environmental adaption/threat detection- people who are more easily awoken were more likely to survive during humanities early years.
